Dr. Romeo B. Garrett preaching at Zion Baptist Church.

Aside from his teaching career, Dr. Garrett also devoted his time as a minister at Zion Baptist Church. Dr. Garrett valued his religion and the relationships he built with those in his church community. He served as a minister here for nearly 40 years before he stepped down from this position. Excerpts from several of Dr. Garrett's sermons have been published, allowing for his impact on the Peoria community to be expanded outside of Bradley's campus.
